The spark arrestor is a mesh dome which installs at the bottom of the stove pipe. The arrestor catches some of the burning ash that would otherwise be free to leave the pipe in the form of sparks. The 2.5″ diameter arrestor is for the standard stoves, the 3″ diameter arrestor is for the XL stoves.
