Scarpa Zodiac Plus GTX Boot Waterproof Test
Scarpa Zodiac Plus GTX Boots
Over the weekend I got the chance to try out a new pair of boots. I took these straight out of the box and figured what better way to test them than to stand in a creek for several minutes and see what results I find (video below). With a GORE-TEX membrane these boots should keep your feet dry under wet conditions. The initial fit is crazy comfortable and one thing that I really like compared to my other boots is the how incredibly light weight these boots are. My usual shoe size is 10.5 and that is exactly what I'm running on these as well. On a size 10.5 I weighed these boots as a pair right at 2.6lbs (pictured below) which is crazy light compared to most other brands and models on the market at the moment. The vibram outsole seemed to provide plenty of traction across rocks and other debris along the trail. I was pleasantly surprised with how little of break in these boots seem to require.

We were pleased to see that the Zodiac boots provided excellent waterproofing capabilities. This combined with the light weight design and the Vibram outsole, they are a great choice when heading into the back country.
